I am an Artist

I'm an artist despite my suffering,

Not because of it.

I'm an artist because the final result renders me happy,

Not because I'm fleeing from my sorrows.

I'm an artist because I want to show society sparks of beauty,

Not because I am secluding myself from it.

I'm an artist because speckles of dust make me wonder,

While others need mountains of gold to make them go yonder.

I'm an artist because I try not to take the world for granted,

Instead, I devour its every shape and structure.

I'm an artist because I try to create, recreate and narrate.

Not because I trap my imagination in a cage.
