Hello happy people! :)

The fourth quote out of the 15 coming up, and as our weekly post, is for perfectionists like myself, for ambitious people out there who are too caught up in their plans that they forget to stop and take in simple light things that they can enjoy so much if only they stopped for a minute to take it in.

NUMBER fOUR :

"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase Perfection we can catch Excellence."

~ Vince Lombardi.

If you are an avid perfectionist like me, this quote is screaming out your name, begging you to pay attention to it.

I have always been a perfectionist. Ever since I was old enough to realize the pressure society puts on an individual, how perfect we should always look and how important it is to render your work perfectly - be it homework, assignments, office reports, and so on. And without trying to boast, I always came up with good results. The more we get acquainted, the more you fellow readers will know how proudly I speak of my work ethics as well as relationships I build with my surroundings. For me, all the success (mind you, I don't claim to be a successful woman, but I am happy with where I have reached so far in my life) I have acquired so far was thanks to the values I hold and how much of a perfectionist I considered myself to be.

However, this is not what brought me to success and content in my professional life. It is not because I try to be perfect that I am making my bosses and customers happy. It is not because I am trying to hide all my flaws that I am excellent in any job I commit to. Not at all. On the contrary, it is because I take in my flaws, I acknowledge them and DESPITE them, I strive to give an excellent work and put in great efforts in whatever I do. I aim for a perfect work, but I give excellent result. Being aware of your flaws is like making a secret pact within yourself and saying ok mr/mrs. Flaw, I know you are here and I promise to find a way to make you an asset and improve myself. If you think you don't have any flaw, how are you going to progress on a personal level, professional level...any level! Personal and professional development starts once you are aware that you are not perfect. How are you going to be a better person if you think you are already perfect and have nothing to change? I think no matter how much we progress, we always have new material to learn, new aspects in ourselves to improve. Some might think it's depressing and discouraging but I think it's the fire that is missing in a lot of us in this society. It's the boost and push we need to keep being on the move, to keep having an open mindset and welcoming vibe. It's MOTIVATING.

So get out there, aim for perfection but stay realistic and be excellent in whatever you set your heart to do.

See you perfectionists (or realists) in the next quote!

Your girl out there,

xoxo
