Hello happy people! :)
Life seems so long. We all think we have so many years ahead of us. However, life is short. And we should make the most out of it. For ourselves, and for the people who surround us. Again, you would not want to die knowing you did not live your life fully. You would not want your life to end, knowing there was so much you could do but somehow you did not.
NUMBER Seven :
"It is not LIVING that matters, but living RIGHTLY."
~ Socrates

Nowadays, people are so stuck in their routine. I cannot grasp the exact moment in time where this became a norm, but mankind is not about living rightly anymore. Or they do think what they're doing is living rightly. Society has set this norm on us that we should focus on studying so hard to be able to get in the right college or university. What follows is finding the right job, the perfect career that will bring us wealth and comfiness. Is that what happiness is? Is that what living should feel like?
Socrates says it so rightly, even though it's so simple that a child himself could have come up with those same words, there's so much wisdom, so much to think about in just that one short line.
Of course, having a career is important. Being financially stable is a bonus in life. However, we should not let us get caught in this trap. Not only would we feel greedy all the time looking for more comfort, more money, more security but we would also feel insecure, void and bare if one day we somehow find ourselves stripped from what this material world has to offer.
I don’t know about you people, but in my primary school we would have a retreat every couple of years or so. And I realize now, how important that was. The focus of the retreat at the time was mainly religious, however it created a bubble and atmosphere for us to reflect on ourselves, to get in touch with our inner self and know ourselves better. I believe this should be something we should do during our free time. Every Sunday, take a break from the world, from society, from rules and norms, and do something that we profoundly enjoy. This way, not only can we relax, but we feel liberated from a pressure we felt during the week, be it because of work, family issues, personal issues and other little stress that we should take off our shoulders.
I would probably read, draw or write more little stories for my blog. Others would perhaps practice yoga or do pottery, sewing, who knows…there’s so many things out there for us to enjoy.
So go out there, find your hobby, hunt down a passion that brings you deep joy and makes you feel inspired and live your life rightly.
Your girl out there,
xoxo
